Music and Art Fundraiser September 10th 2011

Mark your calendars and came and join us September 10th, from 4 to 6 pm at Sherman Clay, 771 Pleasant Grove Blvd, Roseville, CA. for this wonderful event and Piano Recital by Chiharu Sakai Carpenter and Fine Art Expo by Noelia Campbell.

The event is free, but donations are welcome and will be contributed to the Red Cross. A percentage of Art sales will  also be donated to the Red Cross to help Japan and USA disaster zones.

CHIHARU SAKAI

(Pianist)

Chiharu SAKAI was born in Yokohama, Japan. After obtaining master in music at the Tokyo Fine Arts and Music University, she went to Europe to continue her studies a with Rotary scholarship. She has won several international competitions such as the 1^st prize of London International piano competition, 1^st prize of Maria Canals in Spain, finalist of Marguerite Long competition in Paris. She also played with the Philharmonia Orchestra in London, NHK Orchestra in Tokyo and the Lisbon Orchestra in Portugal etc.

After marrying a New Yorker she lived in New York where she taught at Colgate University, and was an accompanist at Hamilton College in New York State. Now she is an associate professor of Kyoto City University of Arts in Japan.
