The event is free, but donations are welcome and will be contributed to the Red Cross. A percentage of Art sales will also be donated to the Red Cross to help Japan and USA disaster zones.

CHIHARU SAKAI
(Pianist)
Chiharu SAKAI was born in Yokohama, Japan. After obtaining master in music at the Tokyo Fine Arts and Music University, she went to Europe to continue her studies a with Rotary scholarship. She has won several international competitions such as the 1st prize of London International piano competition, 1st prize of Maria Canals in Spain, finalist of Marguerite Long competition in Paris. She also played with the Philharmonia Orchestra in London, NHK Orchestra in Tokyo and the Lisbon Orchestra in Portugal etc.
After marrying a New Yorker she lived in New York where she taught at Colgate University , and was an accompanist at Hamilton College in New York State. Now she is an associate professor of Kyoto City University of Arts in Japan.
